  Roland Wesley Jones changed his name to John Albert Jackson Roland Wesley Jones was in the service at about age 18, so around 1919 or 1920. He was stationed in California. He went AWOL and moved to NY and changed his name to John Albert Jackson. He moved to SC and married my grandmother Bessie Catherine Mitchum in April of 1927. About 25 years later (I'll have to check the approximate date), he went to Ft. Jackson in SC (they were living in Columbia, SC at that time) and turned himself in. Roland Wesley Jones did get his discharge at that time.
